"It's the sense of duty that keeps you going sometimes when things get very, very rough. Somebody's got to do it. And if you don't, who will?"
-Norman Schwarzkopf

Welcome to Veterans Against Myeloma (VAM), a growing* team of veterans battling Multiple Myeloma (MM).

Our Target:
Multiple Myeloma  -  a cancer of the plasma cells, a type of white blood cell in the bone marrow.

Our Goal:  Win the battle against Myeloma  -  Find a Cure.

Our Plan:   Join forces to support Myeloma education and research.

Our Weapons:  Dedication, team spirit and increased funding for MM education and research.

Why Vets?  Servicemen and women dedicate their lives preparing for and fighting the enemy as an effective team. Veterans diagnosed with myeloma face a challenging new threat. What can we do about it? We can strengthen our hand in this demanding battle through increased knowledge and the best treatment based on the latest research. By joining forces to serve together through the Veterans Against Myeloma, we will help win this war and find a cure. Hopefully one day together we can say "Mission Accomplished!"

*Join the team! If you are a veteran with MM and want to participate as a team member/fund-raiser, contact Suzanne Battaglia at the International Myeloma Foundation. You can reach her by phone at 1-800-452-CURE (800-452-2873) or by email at sbattaglia@myeloma.org.
