HONORING VIRGINIA RIEDY
My mother's story is one of faith and love. She dedicated her life to helping other people. She was an RN, EMT, Paramedic and educator for all of the above. She literally saved thousands of lives by teaching her students to do just that, but in the end hers could not be saved.
Virginia Riedy was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in November of 2009 after being ill for many months. As an educator, she was not the easiest patient. She broke her hip and had a partial hip replacement in December of 2009. The lesions were concentrated on the bones in her legs. She lived with myeloma and did her best not to let it control her life, and continued working and teaching until weeks before her death. She developed amyloidosis and passed on October 23, 2012 at 1:50 p.m. She left behind her elderly parents, three children, four granddaughters, friends, colleagues and countless students. She is in our hearts and minds every single day
This world lost a truly wonderful person who gave so much. I lost my mother and best friend. I know she is looking down from heaven and is smiling on us all.
I would like to ask you, our family and friends, to make a donation to the International Myeloma Foundation in her honor so more research can be done to cure this horrible disease. You can do so, in any denomination, by clicking on the yellow button on this page.
We thank you so much for your support!
