Dear Friends and Family:
This past year has been the most difficult of my seven and one half year battle with Multiple Myeloma. In January, 2011, I suffered a heart attack and stroke. Fortunately, I was able to recover from both. However, my cancer became un-controllable and I suffered the beginning of kidney failure. I was faced with a life that required daily dialysis. A last option chemo treatment put my cancer into a more manageable state and my kidney's recovered completely ( do you believe in miracles?). In September, I had my second stem cell transplant using my own stem cells that were collected in 2005 and frozen. Although my recovery has been very slow, I am making progress every day.
My long term prognosis is unknown but the work of the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) will be integral to my survival. Last year, through your generosity, we raised over $8000. Once again, I ask you to help support the IMF by making a tax deductible donation to the IMF. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
