Buffalo Creek Golf Club, Rockwall Texas

Sometimes you just meet an incredible person. Someone who gives definition to the word character.  Someone who follows their dreams with such passion that even if it takes them to the other side of the world, you know they will succeed.  Someone who you know will always be there for you, despite what they may have going on in their own life. I'm sure you all have those people in your lives. If you're lucky, you may have more than one. That person in my life is my brother.

Sheldon Gerard Pierre, lovingly known as "Gee", was born August 18, 1974. Originally from the island of Trinidad, Sheldon has always had a global spirit, leading him to live, work and further his education in New Brunswick, Canada, London, UK and Miami, USA.

Talented and passionate about people and making a difference, Sheldon is always keen to expand his knowledge and explore new cultures and new experiences in life. He’s currently the Creative Director/Copywriter for a Singaporean advertising company – 14,000km from home.

A year after moving to Singapore, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer – multiple myeloma - at the young age of 37. For the greater part of 2012 and all of 2013, my brother has spent his time in Singapore General Hospital receiving various chemotherapy treatments to contain the disease. He has finally completed the first of 2 autologous stem cell transplants, (more commonly known as a bone marrow transplant) which will be followed up with specialized treatments. The cost of his treatment is beyond his insurance and our family's resources.

Family and friends are attempting to raise funds for his expenses through the Support Sheldon Golf Tournament to facilitate this medical treatment, andwe hope that through your generosity, we can make this possible.  We will also be donating 25% of the proceeds to the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF).
